Choose Your Blogs Platform

What I mean when I say choose your blogs platform is where you will essentially build your blog.

There are multiple places to do this but I would recommend WordPress.

So why use wordpress?
  • Its free for you to use with your webhost.
  • Its beginner friendly and super easy to use.
  • Tons of FREE plugins and themes to use for your website.

This step by step process will be done using My Most Recommended Webhost so just follow each step and you will have your blog up and running in no time.

Step 1 – Choose Your Hosting Plan & Domain Name

If you want simple and easy to use I would go with wordpress.

Its simple to use with the webhost I am recommending which is one of the fastest wordpress hosts available.

Which means faster load times for your website which is a huge ranking factor if your trying to get ranked in google search.

Lets get started actually setting up your new website.

First step would be to head over to my most recommended webhost and click the Start Now button in the top right corner of the screen.WPXhosting_start_now

The cheapest plan is plenty for what you need to do if your just beginning.

Once you choose your plan go ahead and type in your domain name your want and see if it available.

If your starting a niche blog then try to base your domain name around the subject of your blog.

Also try to get the .com version of your domain name if available.

Its not exactly necessary but it will definitely help if you can get the .com version.

Once you get to the screen that says Choose Billing Cycle you have the option to choose monthly or yearly plan just choose monthly.

There will be a Use Promotion Code section in the bottom left corner go ahead and enter the coupon code Q7AMIWU8J31E1 when choosing your billing cycle for 25% off your first month hosting.WPX_Discount_Code

When you get to the next screen go ahead and enter all your personal details to complete your order.

You’ve completed the hard part now your just a few clicks away from having your website up and running.

Step 2 – Setup Your Website With WordPress

OK so after you’ve completed getting your hosting and domain name it should bring you to your main dashboard screen, if it doesn’t just click dashboard.

From there you will click wordpress hosting, then click on your websites name then click Website/SSL on your screen.

Last step will be to click on Install WP next to your domain name, create your username and password on the next screen and you should be able to login from there.

Just check your email and you should have your new login details.

Just remember you can always get to your WordPress login screen by typing in your domain name and /wp-admin after.

So it would look like this

Step 3 – Personalize Your Blog

Now that you have WordPress installed you can start tweaking your blog to your liking.

Try checking out the appearance section and click the new tab, from here you can find the theme you like.

Try finding one that is fast and mobile friendly.

Google loves websites that have faster loading times and that provide a great experience for mobile users.

Add new blog theme

So after choosing an awesome theme you should choose your plugins.

A plugin is just something that adds functionality to your website.

Giving you new features like providing subscription forms, contact forms, helping you to create better posts with seo in mind and much more.

You now have your own blog and you can start creating your content.
